I agree it is important to vary the anchor text. But I would not vary it so much that the link text is completely different meaning if you are targeting &quot;Search Engine Optimization&quot; you want to try and keep that in all your instances of anchor text (ex:&quot;Optimization for Search Engines&quot;)

This has all the keywords you were originally targeting and still looks natural.</description>
